SUMMER READING CLUB
The Summer Reading Club is open to children 12 and under. Reading logs are available from Thursday, May 28, 2009 until the program's end on Saturday, August 15, 2009. Children who complete the program, by reading (or being read to) for 10 hours, will receive a certificate and prize. Readers must turn in their logs by August 31st to claim their prize.
Participants may read as many hours as they wish and will earn a raffle ticket for every 10 hours read. The ticket may be used for a chance at additional prizes. Raffle prizes will be drawn on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. Readers do not need to be present to win.

The Junior English Country Dancers are a group of children and teens that learn and perform dances from the days of colonial America. Watch them perform and learn a step or two!
Megan Hicks: The Storytelling Empress:Origami Swami
Tuesday, June 23 at 7:00 p.m.
Children will enjoy Megan’s storytelling that uses origami, the ancient art of paper folding. Each child will go home with an origami memento.

Mr. Smith presents his book, The Little Known History of African and African-American Conjurors and Other Minority Conjurers, through the use of “maji,” a style of African theatre that blends storytelling, puppetry, ventriloquism and music.

In this hands-on program, presented by
Winterthur, children ages 5-10 will learn to set a colorful table, use old-fashioned 3D glasses to take a virtual house tour, and learn how new rooms at Winterthur came from pieces of old houses.
