CIVILIAN PENSION BOARD



The Civilian Pension Board met on June 21, 2006 at 9:50 a.m. with Chairman Ruane presiding. Members present were Mrs. Mitchell, Mrs. Braun, and Mr. Lucas. Members absent were Mrs. Rigby, Mr. Hogan and Mr. DePrima.


AGENDA ADDITIONS/DELETIONS

Mr. Lucas moved for approval of the agenda, seconded by Mrs. Braun and unanimously carried.


SETTING EFFECTIVE DATE FOR PENSION BENEFITS TO BE PAID TO ALL CIVILIAN RETIREES (COLA)

During the Civilian Pension Board Meeting of February 27, 2000, members directed the City Clerk to maintain a permanent pending agenda item to review pension benefits paid to City of Dover retirees (COLA) prior to the third week in February each year.


During their meeting of February 8, 2006, Mr. Deprima moved to recommend tabling the matter of a Cost of Living Allowance for two months to allow for the review of the budget.


Mr. Lucas recommended that individuals retired prior to January 1, 2006 receive a Cost of Living Allowance (COLA).


Mrs. Mitchell moved to recommend that any individuals who retired prior to January 1, 2006 will receive a 1% COLA, seconded by Mr. Lucas and unanimously carried.


PENSION BENEFIT MEMORANDUM - JANICE GREEN

A memorandum was provided to members indicating the retirement of Janice Green with 25 years of service (Attachment #1). She retired under Section 2-182(b), Early Retirement with Unreduced Benefits. Mrs. Green’s official retirement began May 17, 2006.


Mrs. Mitchell moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Lucas and unanimously carried.
